Fairy gardens are becoming even more popular in the home garden these days. For centuries, the world has often been fascinated with the mythological of magical creatures living among humans spreading magic and mischief throughout the homes and gardens. While evidence of their existence may be slim, people often enjoy showcasing and displaying these creatures through art and figurines to appreciate what fairies stand for.

Some people prefer to utilize just one fairy garden statue to add a touch of magic to their overall garden design, however, others who love fairies would go out of their way to build an entire fairy garden with multiple statues. Fairy gardens are basically miniature gardens with added touches that give the appearance of a tiny creature residing in that place. These gardens can be planted in suitable containers inside the home, though there are many small fairy gardens planted in small secluded location in your yard in order to give the impression of a visitor possibly stumbling upon the garden to discover it.

A fairy garden statue can come in numerous shapes, forms, themes, and designs. Putting together a fairy garden should be built around a theme or idea. One popular design is to build a woodland fairy garden, which are usually installed at the foot of a tree in a shaded part of the yard with forest themed items incorporated into it such as tree leaves and a door on the trunk of the tree. Other fairy garden ideas can include the flower fairies in which you can expect to find a small cottage surrounded by flowers and grass with other miniature garden décor added to the overall look. Another common theme is to put in a water feature to your garden like a fairy dock where a small boat or raft can be tacked on to the edge.

Putting a fairy garden statue right into your existing garden allows for the feeling that your whole miniature garden is the genuine thing; that an actual fairy lives there. The only disadvantage of creating one outside is that the elements and weather will eventually destroy the fairy garden décor if not regularly maintained for, and it would be more difficult for visitors to enjoy them if they are not readily accessible. That is why people would often build one in a container to be kept inside or outside so as to be transportable and prolong the longevity of the garden, avoiding this problem altogether. This method allows the garden to be moved out of inclement weather and to be enjoyed from wherever in the garden you choose. However, the downside to this option is that it would not be able to capture the same mystique as a fairy garden hidden in an actual yard outside.

All of the elements in making an authentic fairy garden lies in the fairy garden statue your inspired from and nature’s elements. To get really involved, people also put in other creatures to interact with the fairies they have such as gnomes and elves, which complement the magical scenery perfectly. The point is to allow the freedom of expressing yourself, by putting together a story in the form of fairy statues and a garden, to add a touch of personality and fun to your home that visitors would enjoy seeing.
